Real-time translation
Talk to customers in their language while your team works in theirs. EveryChan translates messages both ways as they're sent, and can do the same on live calls.
How it works
When translation is on, each inbound message is translated into the agent's language, and each reply is translated into the visitor's. Agents always read and write in their own language; the customer sees theirs.
Turning it on
Translation can be set at three levels, most specific wins:
- Team — enable it for a whole team and set the agent languages.
- Conversation — override for a single chat from its details panel.
- Workspace default — under Settings → Translation, choose whether customers also see the original (untranslated) text next to the translation.
Showing the original
Agents can reveal the original of any message with Show original. On the visitor side, you decide per workspace whether the original is shown alongside the translation.
Live sneak-peek translation
With sneak-peek enabled, agents see what a visitor is typing before they send. You can optionally translate that live draft too — turn it on under Settings → Translation. It's off by default because it translates on every keystroke and uses more of your monthly translation allowance.
Calls
Translation also works on phone calls: the caller and agent each hear the other in their own language, with a live transcript showing both. See the calls guide for setup.
